Kratom as such is a tree that belongs to the coffee family. In history, Kratom became famous mainly in Asia, where it was used for medicinal purposes, due to its stimulant effect. Nowadays, kratom is mainly made into a tea or a drink that people drink mainly because of its effects and the main effect is to “kick”. Kratom has similar effects to coffee if you follow the dosage, if not, it can put you to sleep;
So what exactly is Kratom made of?
Kratom tea is made by brewing the leaves from the Kratom tree, but kratom can also be found in powder form – which is again crushed leaves. In history, kratom leaves were only chewed, the taste was not exactly delicious, but this “yummy” gave incredible energy. Kratom is found exclusively in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand;
Kratom and Diseases?
Yes, Kratom is also one of the healing miracles of nature, not only does it give you enough energy for the whole day in the morning, but it also cures for example cough, diarrhea, high blood pressure, but it also helps with more serious diseases – diabetes. Furthermore, Kratom has historically been used as an opium substitute, a pain reliever. Ha, next time I’m going to try a cup before I go for a cure, maybe it will help.
And what are its effects?
Kratom leaves, which are used to make tea, or the powder from which you make your smoothie, contain more than 40 active compounds. These compounds act on different receptors in the brain, causing effects akin to stimulants and opioids, but it’s dose-dependent;
In small doses between 1 – 5 grams, kratom acts as a stimulant and seems to increase your energy, which can make you feel more alert and sociable;
In higher doses between 5 – 15 grams, kratom appears to have a sedative effect, similar to that of opioids or painkillers such as morphine and codeine, which can make you feel tired, calm and euphoric;
The higher dosage range is traditionally used to treat conditions such as diarrhea and cough.
In very high doses above 15 grams, the sedative effects of Kratom are extreme and can cause loss of consciousness;
Me and Kratom?

I’ve learned to drink Kratom a couple of times a week in the morning instead of coffee, I’ve had a great state, energy, feeling of euphoria countless times, but I’ve also overdone it a couple of times. And I really recommend you not to overdo it, you’ll get really sick, almost sick and you won’t even want to smell Kratom afterwards, you know, like when you throw up from some alcohol for the first time and you don’t want to see it again for the rest of your life;
Personally, I don’t gram it exactly, I always take 1-2 teaspoons, I prefer it warm with honey. Yes, with honey! That’s the best combination for me so far, I’ve tried lemon, cane sugar and honey and it’s really tasty with just honey, otherwise kratom on its own isn’t exactly delicious;
Does kratom have any side effects?
The last thing I’m going to address today is side effects. And yes, unfortunately even Kratom has its cons, such as dehydration, weight loss, nausea, and hallucinations. And also regular use of kratom can lead to addiction and cause withdrawal symptoms.
Kratom is a great thing, but as they say, everything in moderation.
