What is CBG ? 

CBG stands for the English name for cannabigerol – cannabigerol. This compound is one of more than 100 cannabinoids, a group of substances that includes THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol).
In uncultivated cannabis, CBG is the third most abundant cannabinoid.
CBG is formed from CBGA (cannabigeroleic acid), which serves as the basic building block for a number of other compounds such as CBD THC or other cannabinoids.
What are its effects ?
CBG’s broad spectrum of properties is based on its ability to bind to receptors on a wide range of tissues and organs, thereby modifying inflammatory responses and cellular processes. Cannabigerol, among others. – like CBD – binds weakly to the CB1 endocannabinoid receptor. These receptors (among other places) are located in the brain and their activation leads to the known psychoactive effects we most often associate with THC. Due to its weak binding, cannabigerol does not activate CB1 receptors – and also prevents the binding of THC molecules, thus inhibiting their psychotropic effect.
So far, unlike other cannabinoids, relatively few studies have investigated the effects of cannabigerol. In addition, most of them have been carried out in animal models or in laboratories. But the results of the study make us optimistic.
CBG Chronic intestinal inflammation
According to the results of a 2013 Italian study, cannabigerol has the ability to help suppress inflammatory bowel disease and relieve its symptoms… People with chronic inflammatory bowel problems often suffer from long-term diarrhea and abdominal pain, blood in the stool and weight loss. These diseases, which include Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, have something in common, which is an attack on the gut by the body’s own immune system. The treatment of these inflammations is quite difficult and consists of symptom relief. In most cases, hormonal corticosteroid drugs are used, but these have a number of serious side effects: increased blood sugar levels and possible risk of diabetes, different distribution of body fat, skin problems, increased appetite. In the aforementioned study, CBG was able to restore the protection of intestinal cells against dangerous free radicals (which can cause e.g. cancer) and suppress the inflammatory response. The anti-inflammatory ability of CBG is also confirmed by other studies.
Multiple sclerosis and other neurodegenerative diseases
Multiple sclerosis is a serious disease in which the immune system attacks nerve cells and causes degradation of their protective layer, myelin. The conductivity of the affected nerves is reduced or even lost; this leads to muscle weakness, sensitivity problems and loss of mental abilities. As the disease progresses, people with multiple sclerosis are confined to a wheelchair decreasing their ability to care for themselves. There is no cure for the disease yet. However, certain preparations can slow down the development of the disease. As with other inflammatory diseases, corticosteroids are used to suppress the immune system. A promising drug could be cannabigerol. Two studies from 2012 and 2014 demonstrated the ability of modified CBG to protect nerves from immune system damage. CBG administration was able to restore motor function to normal mobility in mice and significantly reduce damage to the nerve sheaths. The neuroprotective function of cannabigerol could also apply to other diseases associated with nerve damage: Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease or amphiotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). A 2019 test tube experiment pointed to the possibility of improving nerve protection with CBG by adding CBD. In addition, this mixture also has higher neuroprotective properties than cannabidiol alone, according to the study.
Pain management
CBG has a similar mechanism of action to Ibalgin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers. It is therefore possible that cannabigerol could become an alternative to these drugs. According to an earlier study, CBG is even more effective than THC for pain.
Diabetes mellitus
A 2018 study showed the possibility of using cannabis extract (high in CBG and CBD) to reduce the activity of aldose reductase and thus relieve the body of the damage caused by diabetes. The enzyme aldose-reductase is involved in the conversion of sugars in cells, which leads to the typical health problems of diabetics: neuropathy (and associated pain), kidney and retinal damage (which can lead to blindness), and cataracts. But the main advantage of CBG and other cannabinoids is their ability to pass through cell membranes. This would allow the components of the cannabis extract to reach the cells of the retina, something that current aldose-reductase drugs have great difficulty with. In addition, classical drugs have relatively serious side effects (digestive problems, increased liver enzymes). Cancer A number of studies have reported on cannabigerol’s ability to suppress tumour growth – on human cells in a test tube. Mj. CBG has been shown to suppress cancer: breast (CBD is still more effective according to the study), prostate (along with CBD), colon, stomach, skin (mouse cells). The exact mechanism of action is unknown. However, it is speculated that CBG triggers the so-called “tumour cell death” in cancer cells. cell death (apoptosis) Research in animal models in 2014 pointed to the possibility of using CBG not only to treat tumours, but also to treat their origin. Administration of cannabigerol slowed the development of colon cancer in mice. CBG’s ability to stimulate appetite also offers great potential. It is the loss of appetite that a large proportion of cancer patients experience.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is caused by damage to the optic nerve due to high intraocular pressure. The eye oppresses the blood vessels leading to the nerve and impairs its supply of necessary nutrients. In affected people (tens of millions worldwide), the gradual death of the nerve worsens vision. Moreover, its regenerative abilities are limited, so the damage is virtually irreversible. A 2008 study highlights the potential for treating glaucoma by reducing pressure inside the eye with CBG.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that affects between 2% and 4% of people. It is a genetic disease caused by rapid growth of skin cells and their premature cornification. These factors lead to frequent inflammation. In psoriasis, red, scaly patches form on the skin. Some patients also develop joint inflammation (psoriatic arthritis). Cannabigerol has the ability to slow down the excessive proliferation of skin cells. It could thus be an alternative to conventional psoriasis drugs, which have a number of side effects (including the already mentioned corticosteroids).
Problems with urination
A test-tube experiment showed that CBG could be a promising treatment for urinary problems (inability to urinate, incontinence, etc.). This is confirmed by numerous testimonies of people who use cannabis for these problems. 

Bone thinning (osteoporosis)
According to a 2007 English study, CBG stimulates the activity of certain components of the immune system that activate bone tissue repair. Cannabigerol thus offers a therapeutic use for the thinning of bones experienced by many seniors and post-menopausal women.

The active ingredients in our oils are dissolved in MCT oil. When using full-spectrum and broad-spectrum oils, the so-called. entourage effect, where cannabionides support each other in therapeutic potential (and a smaller number of drops is sufficient to achieve an effect). CBG oils are dripped under the tongue and can be found in concentrations ranging from 5 to 20%. When taken orally, cannabigerol enters the bloodstream relatively quickly and begins to take effect after just 20 minutes. Its effect lasts for several hours. This method of use is particularly suited to intestinal problems, but the blood also allows cannabigerol to reach other tissues and organs.

CBG oil can be used for skin problems and sore muscles. Their application is simple – just apply the cream to the affected area and leave it on. Ointments must not be taken internally. 

Side effects of CBG products. No studies have yet been conducted on the side effects of taking CBG products. However, according to testimonials, CBG users tolerate it well. You should be wary if you are taking any medication. CBG should not be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women – it is not clear what effect cannabigerol may have on a developing fetus or infant.
